Sky Italia, which is preparing to launch personal video recorder (PVR) services in Italy, selected Pace Micro Technology to provide the set-top box provider for the new MySky service.

Pace has developed a system capable of storing 160 gigabytes of data, which will enable subscribers to record up to 60 hours of programming, Sky Italia said. Subscribers also will be able to pause or rewind live TV and fast forward at the touch of a button, time-shift and automatically record multiple episodes in a series.
