Echostar Communications Corporation announced Jan. 4 that its Dish Network passed the 12 million customer milestone in late December. Dish Network reached 1 million subscribers in December 1997 and passed 11 million customers in January 2005, adding more than 6.7 million net new customers throughout the last five years.
