The Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications and Industrial Scientists Consortium SDN BHD of Malaysia announced Dec. 16 they would establish a working group aimed at procuring and launching a telecommunications satellite. The satellite would be jointly used by both organizations for commercial operations, as well as by the Malaysian government to improve the national telecommunications infrastructure. Intersputnik will be responsible for selecting the satellite manufacturer and launch services provider.
