Orbital Sciences Corp. said Dec. 5 it received an $11.7 million contract from Foothill Transit of West Covina, Calif., to provide a Smartbus System to track and manage Foothill Transit’s fleet of 300 public transportation and related vehicles. The GPS-based OrbCAD fleet management system is intended to help Foothill Transit improve service while increasing the efficiency of its operations. The system includes a fully integrated vehicle equipment suite in each of its buses.
