Nera Satcom received type approval from Inmarsat for the commercial launch of the new Nera Worldpro 1000 mobile broadband satellite terminal. The device, which weighs less than a kilogram, is designed to work with Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) services, which is scheduled to launch this month. BGAN can provide simultaneous global voice and broadband data speeds up to half-a-megabit per second.
