Intelsat Ltd. and APT Satellite Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of APT Satellite Holdings Ltd., entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to market each other’s satellite capacity and ground resources and provide broadcast and telecommunications services to the Asia -Pacific region, the companies announced Dec. 2.

The agreement gives Intelsat and its customers access to APT’s newly launched Apstar 5 and Apstar 6 satellites and APT and its customers will have access to Intelsat’s fleet of 28 satellites worldwide. The two companies also agreed to explore additional growth initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
