Protostar, which plans to provide direct-to-home satellite television services on a wholesale basis to the Asia-Pacific region, announced Dec. 1 that Steven Dorfman joined the company’s board of directors. Dorfman has served as CEO of Hughes Space and Communications, Hughes Communications and Hughes Telecommunications and Space. While CEO of Hughes Communications, Dorfman was responsible for the development of the Galaxy System satellite service provider, which ultimately merged with Panamsat.
