U.K. satellite pay-TV operator BSkyB confirmed that the National Geographic HD channel will be the first third-party broadcaster to provide content for BSkyB’s high- definition (HD) television offerings. National Geographic HD will offer a range of content, including programming covering natural history, wildlife, science and world exploration. BSkyB is scheduled to launch its HD service in the United Kingdom and Ireland in early 2006.
