Airspan Networks Inc. has joined iDirect Technologies‘ IP Alliance program, which will enable WiFi wireless local area network connectivity to users in remote locations, iDirect announced Nov. 28.

Airspan’s As.max product line will be used in conjunction with iDirect’s satellite routing system to deliver broadband Internet protocol service to areas where terrestrial connections are unavailable, take too long to implement or are too costly.

Separately, iDirect certified Encore Networks as an applications partner in the IP Alliance program. According to Encore, iDirect tested Encore’s Bandit and VSR platforms for interoperability over iDirect’s IP satellite modems.
