Satellite equipment vendor Swe-Dish said it received the IPStar test certificate for its Ku-band IPT Suitcase product, certifying that the suitcase can be operated in the Southeast Asia region over the IPStar satellite, which is operated by Shin Satellite plc. The IPT Suitcase previously has received type approvals from Intelsat, Eutelsat, Europe*Star, Hispasat and also has received a U.S. Federal Communications Commission license.

Swe-Dish said the usage of Ku-band in Southeast Asia is increasing and the company has commissioned several VSAT networks with mobile remote satellite terminals using the IPT Suitcase. Typical users include governmental organizations, disaster relief agencies, defense agencies and broadcasters using the equipment for covering breaking news and major events.
