Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) said the inaugural launch of its Falcon 1 rocket will take place Nov. 25. The privately developed, liquid-fueled rocket will be launched from Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands and carry Falconsat-2. The spacecraft, part of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s satellite program, will measure space plasma phenomena, which can adversely affect space-based communications, including GPS and other civil and military communications.

SpaceX said the Falcon 1 is priced at $6.7 million.
