Xantic announced Nov. 15 it would be offering round the clock “Happy Hour” calling for the crew calling market during major world holidays. The discounted rates will apply to all calls made on Inmarsat B, M, mini-M and Fleet terminals using Xantic’s Chatcard service. The holidays include the Christmas/New Year time frame, Chinese Lunar New Year and Easter.

Separately, Xantic announced last week that Inmarsat and Xantic signed the Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) Service Release Certificate, meaning that Xantic is completely ready to offer BGAN service once Inmarsat makes the service commercially available. Commercial BGAN service is expected to begin in December.
