Telenor Satellite Services said Nov. 14 it has met all Inmarsat technical, commercial and distribution requirements necessary for the launch of its Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) offering.

Telenor said that its preparations for BGAN launch included upgrades to its billing system and business support tools as well as the development of the My Source Web portal to be used by customers of Telenor service providers. Telenor also has implemented a new BGAN point-of-presence, enabling Internet protocol connectivity for al BGAN services, including streaming Internet protocol services and support for increased security.
