Iridium Names New Value-Added Developers

Iridium Satellite Nov. 9 named Avdata Systems Pty Ltd. and Advanced Global Communications new value-added developers for the Iridium system.

Headquartered in Caloundra, Australia, Avdata Systems specializes in the development and certification of electronic devices for airborne applications and focuses on ruggedized enclosures and connectors to protect various airborne hardware platforms.

Advanced Global Communications, based in Auckland, New Zealand, provides specialized wireless messaging and mobile tracking solutions and provides services in consulting and contracting for specialized communications and tracking requirements. The company partnered with Iridium to promote Track4000, a hardware solution that contains Iridium interface software and a GPS unit to provide tracking services via the Iridium network.

Iridium established its value-added develop program earlier in 2005 to establish relationships with companies that have a particular technical expertise or capability to develop new products or solutions using the Iridium satellite network.
