NBC Universal and DirecTV Inc. announced a deal Nov. 7 that will give DirecTV subscribers with DirecTV Plus interactive digital video recorder the opportunity to purchase and view commercial free certain NBC programming shortly after its network premier. The agreement covers programming on NBC as well as USA Network, the Sci-Fi Channel and Bravo, and includes programs such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “The Office,” “Monk,” “Surface” and “Battlestar Galactica.”

Viewers will be charged 99 cents for each program, which will be available until the next episode airs the following week.
