Israel’s ECI Telecom received a contract from Intelsat to provide components for a communications backbone in the Washington, D.C. area, ECI announced Oct. 24.

ECI will provide its XDM Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP). The optical network deployment will be used as the backbone infrastructure to deliver more advanced services to customers. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
