Arrowhead Global Solutions and Norsat International Inc. announced Oct. 18 they will jointly deliver Norsat’s portable broadband satellite system to U.S. military forces in the field. Under the agreement, Arrowhead will market the Globetrekker system and provide the first line of customer support.

Globetrekker is a portable satellite system that enables users to establish broadband connections on short notice anywhere in the world. The system can be carried in a backpack and transported on a plane, helicopter or worn by paratroopers in full gear. Globetrekker supports data transmission rates up to 4 megabits per second and comes with a 1-meter carbon fiber antenna, RF electronics and motorized azimuth/elevation superstructure.
