L-3 Communications Electron Technologies Inc. (L-3 ETI) received a contract from Space Systems/Loral to provide S-band traveling wave tube amplifiers for a pair communications satellites being built for ICO Satellite Management LLC and Terrestar Networks Inc.

Under the deal, valued at more than $20 million, L-3 ETI will deliver a set of 130-watt S-band amplifiers for the ICO program and a set of 100-watt S-band units for the Terrestar program. This order represents the eighth and ninth flight sets of S-band amplifiers Space Systems/Loral has ordered from L-3 ETI.
