ND Satcom said Oct. 12 that Al Jazeera awarded several joint contracts to ND Satcom and Salam Media Cast to provide uplink and downlink equipment for the development of a children’s channel for the Qatar-based television broadcaster.

ND Satcom and Salam Media Cast installed a 6.3-meter extended Ku-band uplink system and a 3.7-meter Ku-band Skyplex uplink system for program distribution over Eutelsat. ND Satcom also implemented a managed downlink solution for further program contributions, interconnection to news agencies, program production units and further program rebroadcast over Nilesat and Arabsat satellites.
