International Datacasting Corp. of Canada entered into a non-binding agreement to acquire Profline BV for cash and stock, International Datacasting announced Sept. 29. Profline, based in the Netherlands, provides network equipment and systems for the digital satellite and cable broadcast market.

“Profline has great products and great people that will help strengthen our presence in Europe, an area that has traditionally been a good one for us,” Ron Clifton, president and CEO of International Datacasting, said in a statement. “Profline has complementary broadcast-oriented products that we plan to market in other regions of the world through our own international distribution network.”

The transaction must be approved by the respective boards of directors and government regulators, but it expected to close Nov. 1, International Datacasting said.
