Echostar Communications Corp. announced Sept. 23 that its Dish Network direct-to-home satellite television service is enhancing its 24-hour hurricane channel to provide information on Hurricane Rita, in addition to the Hurricane Katrina coverage that the company already is delivering. The channel, which offers information relating to the recovery efforts from both hurricanes, including key telephone numbers, a survivors’ list and other updates provided by relief agencies, has been renamed the “Emergency Response Information Network.”
