XM Satellite Radio announced Sept. 27 it topped the 5 million-subscriber mark and is expecting to finish strong in 2005.

“We are on track to have more than 6 million subscribers by the end of this year,” Hugh Panero, XM president and CEO said in a statement. “With the winning combination of outstanding new channels and breakthrough products in advance of the holiday season, XM is poised for record growth during the fourth quarter.”
