Modulus Video Inc., a developer of MPEG-4 AVC compression systems, raised $10 million in venture funding, the company announced Sept. 27.

The funding round was led by Thomas Weisel Venture Partners, with participation from Trinity Ventures. Mangesh Pimpalkhare, a venture partner of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners, has joined the Modulus board of directors.

Modulus technology is used to deliver video over satellite, cable, terrestrial and Internet protocol television networks.
