Asia Satellite Telecommunicat-ions Co. Ltd. (Asiasat) announced Sept. 20 that it signed an agreement with Airwaves Media (Pvt) Ltd. of Pakistan for the lease of C-band capacity on the Asiasat 3S satellite for the digital free-to-air distribution of a new Urdu television channel, TV One, to Pakistan and more than 50 countries in the Asia Pacific region. Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed.

TV One offers a mix of programming content, including news and current affairs, entertainment, drama and music.
