Globecomm Systems Inc. announced Sept. 20 it won multiple contracts from Digicel Group (Digicel), a mobile telecommunications company in the Caribbean.

Globecomm will design and install satellite infrastructure in Trinidad and Tobago in preparation for Digicel’s planned GSM network launch in these locations.

Globecomm has worked with Digicel since the company launch in 2001 in Jamaica as the country’s first GSM operator Since then, Digicel has expanded into Aruba, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Curacao, Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and St Lucia. Digicel was recently awarded licenses to operate in Trinidad, Tobago and Haiti.
