LogicaOMG will define next-generation satellite navigation technologies intended for insertion into mass-market location-based services (LBS) which use a mobile phone.

The ultimate objective of the “Applications of Galileo in the LBS Environment” project, or AGILE, is to define a roadmap that will bring Galileo-based, value-added applications to market. Among the services envisioned are applications for emergency response, traffic information, local shopping data and child location services.

Galileo Joint Undertaking awarded the 6 million euro ($7.29 million) contract.
