In the Sept. 19 issue of Satellite Today, we reported that Quake Global Inc. said its new Q1000 modem was delivered to Orbcomm for final U.S. Federal Communications Commission testing. However, Mark Eisenberg, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Orbcomm, told Satellite Today Sept. 19, after the issue of Satellite Today was published, that the Q1000 hardware has not yet been delivered to Orbcomm, and the two companies have not yet agreed on testing procedures. Eisenberg also said that Orbcomm would only be testing the unit for use on the Orbcomm system, which is it designed for, and not on any other satellite system.
