Racetrack Television Network (RTN) is getting set to launch a MPEG-4 AVC-based standard definition satellite TV service that will allow RTN to add up to 60 channels to its lineup and add new services.

The service is being launched with partners Island Media, Neotion and Harmonic, the companies announced Sept. 15. Neotion’s modules enable viewers to gain access to MPEG-4 TV channels along with providing optional hybrid connectivity for Internet protocol TV, video on demand and other IP-based interactive services.

“RTN is reinforcing its leadership position in the at home racetrack simulcast market by developing new services and complete racing content for its subscribers,” said Todd Roberts, president of RTN.
