Quake Global Inc. introduced Sept. 16 it new Q1000 satellite modem, which the company said would work on any satellite system.

Measuring just 2.5 inches square by 0.6 inches thick, the Q1000 was developed to meet customer demand for a very-small footprint modem at a price point less than $100. Quake said Orbcomm is conducting final U.S. Federal Communications Commission testing to ensure the modem meets regulatory requirements. The modem will be available in October.
