SDN Global received a contract from the Disaster Relief and Strategic Telecommunications Infrastructure Co. to provide broadband satellite-delivered voice and data services around the globe, SDN announced.

Sites in West Africa are scheduled to be equipped for the service before the end of September, SDN said. The company’s multi-protocol label switching/satellite network also will provide availability for North and South America, Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and parts of the Pacific Rim. The service will be managed from SDN’s network operations control centers in Charlotte, N.C., and Atlanta.

Financial details of the contract were not released.
