Gizmondo Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of Florida-based Tiger Telematics Inc. signed a deal to add ALK Technologies Ltd. software to the satellite navigation application for the Gizmondo handheld entertainment unit, Gizmondo announced.

As part of Gizmondo Navigator 2006, ALK’s Copilot software will plan routes, calculate the best route if a turn is missed and divert drivers around problem spots. The GPS-based application will be priced at 99 British pounds ($177) in the United Kingdom through the end of September and then jump to 199 pounds ($355).

Gizmondo announced Aug. 9 it is delaying the launch of its Gizmondo multi-entertainment handheld device in North America to an unspecified date near Christmas.
