Echostar Communications Corp. debuted a new feature that will give customers the ability to watch six channels and use an interactive menu at the same time, Echostar announced Aug. 30.

Dish customers can view six separate feeds on a single channel, including CNN, MSNBC, the Weather Channel. Full-screen video appears when a viewer selects a single channel to view. Echostar first debuted the service during the 2004 Summer Olympics.

The feature was developed in partnership with OpenTV Corp., utilizing its ITV middleware technology.
