Westar Satellite Services signed a contract with SBC operating companies for fiber-optic connectivity for Westar’s satellite transmission facilities, Westar announced.

Under the deal, Westar customers in Texas will be connected to the transmission facilities via SBC’s Broadcast Video TV1 Service, which delivers high-speed fiber-optic connections designed to deliver broadcast-quality video.

Terms of the contract were not released.
