World Communications Center (WCC) announced Aug. 24 a channel partnership with Strix Systems to provide wireless local area networks and Internet access via satellite in remote environments in the continental United States.

WCC will combine Strix Systems’ self-configuring and self-healing wireless mesh networking systems with WCC’s portable VSAT satellite to create a wireless local area network Internet connection. WCC said it will target “underserved” industries, including construction, mining, recreational vehicle parks, hotels and motels, ski resorts, and maritime operations, as well as government and defense users.
