Qiao Xing Universal Telephone Inc. said Aug. 15 its CEC Telecom Co. Ltd. subsidiary has partnered with telecom operator China Communications Co. Ltd., and technology supplier Shenzhen Rongine Technology Ltd. to manufacture and market satellite navigation products, including a GPS-enabled GSM mobile phone.

Under the terms of the agreement, CEC Telecom will manufacture at least 500,000 GPS-enabled GSM phones on an annual basis for China Communications to launch on the China market.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
