Telenor Satellite Services received approval from the Brazilian government to offer Inmarsat services throughout Brazil, the company announced Aug. 9.

The approval, announced by the Brazilian government July 25, completes a negotiation begun in 2002 by Inmarsat, Embratel and the government to authorize Telenor to provider services within the country. Prior to this approval, Telenor was able to sell Inmarsat service in Brazil only through state-sponsored service provider Embratel.
