The launch of Russia’s latest remote Earth-sensing satellite, Monitor-E, was postponed until Aug. 26 due to a problem with the satellite’s navigation system, according to reports from Itar-Tass.

The launch from Plesetsk Cosmodrome aboard a Rokot launch vehicle was scheduled for Aug. 18. Engineers have replaced the navigation system and are conducting test of the new equipment.

Monitor-E will carry a pair of cameras that will capture imagery of Earth in 8-meter and 20-meter resolutions, respectively.
