New Skies Satellites Holdings Ltd. reported revenue of $59.7 million in its second quarter 2005, the company said Aug. 4. The net loss in the second quarter 2005 was $13.2 million, compared to a profit of $19.5 million a year ago.
“I am pleased to report that we increased revenues 16 percent relative to the same period last year, primarily a reflection of the fact that we sold a significant amount of capacity throughout the last 12 months,” New Skies CEO Dan Goldberg said in a statement. New Skies attributed the growth in revenue to increased fill rate, as transponder usage grew from 52 percent to 61 percent throughout the past year.
