Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (Asiasat) launched a new Kashmiri channel aboard Asiasat 2 in conjunction with Azad Jammu and Kashmir Television Station, Asiasat announced Aug. 4.

AJK TV is a digital, free-to-air channel that provides news, education and entertainment programming in the Kashmiri and Urdu languages. The independent channel is facilitated by Pakistan Television Corp. and was started in February 2004.
