Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. lost $500,000 on revenue of $51.4 million in its second quarter 2005, the company reported Aug. 3. In the same period a year ago, Gilat lost $1.8 million on revenue of $57.5 million.

Gilat attributed the shrinking losses to a drop in depreciation and amortization expenses from $7.8 million in the second quarter 2004 to $4.8 million in the most recent quarter, which ended June 30.
