Boeing Co. completed the sale of its Rocketdyne Propulsion & Power business to United Technologies Corp., effective Aug. 2.

Rocketdyne builds engines for the space shuttle and Boeing’s Delta family of expendable launch vehicles, as well as missile defense systems.

Boeing disclosed in its second quarter financial statement that it recorded $700 million in cash proceeds from the sale, which includes sites and assets in California, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida.
