Glowlink Communications Technology Inc. said it received an order for additional Glowlink Model 1000 Satellite Monitoring Systems to be used in three Intelsat teleports.

The Model 1000 monitoring product is a digital signal processor-based spectrum monitoring system that monitors uplink and downlink activity and reports the status of a satellite, or multiple satellites, in a near-instant fashion if an anomaly is detected. The Model 1000 also can detect incremental problems and interference inside and outside a carrier’s network without the carrier having to turn off the system. The interference detection capabilities allow an operator to determine the existence of problems such as interference or even hijacking and pirating of a signal.

Intelsat spokeswoman Jodi Katz told Satellite Today the monitoring systems will be installed in its Riverside, Calif., Mountainside, Md., and Fuchsstadt, Germany, teleports.
