Arianespace set Aug. 11 as the new launch date for Shin Satellite Plc‘s IPStar satellite, Arianespace announced July 25. The satellite originally has been scheduled to launch July 8 and initially was delayed three days to complete launch readiness reviews. During that time, engineers found an anomaly in the ground equipment used to prepare the Ariane 5 rocket that will carry the satellite into orbit from Arianespace’s French Guiana launch site, pushing the launch back even further.
The Space Systems/Loral-built IPStar is designed to provide business and commercial customers throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand with various levels of Internet access services.
