Galaxy 14 Launch Delayed
The launching of Panamsat‘s Galaxy 14 satellite has been delayed, Kathryn Lancioni, vice president of corporate communications and investor relations at Panamsat, told Satellite Today July 27.
The satellite had been scheduled for an Aug. 6 launch from the Baikonur Space Center on a Soyuz FG/Fregat rocket. However, a delay in the processing and integration schedule has pushed the launch back by an estimated one week, Lancioni said.
Galaxy-14, the satellite will carry a C-band payload to be used for distribution of entertainment and information to cable television systems, television broadcast affiliates, direct-to-home television operators, Internet service providers, telecommunications companies and corporations. It also will carry an additional L-band payload as part of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration Geostationary Communications and Control Segment program. Orbital Sciences Corp manufactured the satellite.
