China Galileo Industries (CGI) signed agreements to participate in three application projects for Europe’s Galileo satellite navigation system, Xinhuareported July 28.

The agreements with the Galileo Joint Undertaking call for CGI to develop the fishery application system, the location-based services and special ionospheric studies for the Galileo regional augmentation services.

The first of the 30 planned satellites in the Galileo constellation is scheduled to be launched later in 2005.
