Nordic direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service provider Canal Digital reported slow subscriber growth in the 2005 second quarter. The operator only gained 2,000 new subscribers, finishing the second quarter with 853,000 subscribers. In the first quarter, Canal Digital had added 27,000 subscribers and during the second quarter of 2004, the company added 4,000 subscribers.

The monthly ARPU (average revenue per user) also decreased. The figure at the end of June was around 299 Norwegian kroner ($45), compared to 310 kroner ($47) at the end of 2004 and 303 kroner ($46) at the end of the first quarter.
