Telmap will provide a mobile navigation system for a new GPS service offered by Israeli-cellular operator Mirs Communications Ltd., the companies announced July 18.

The Voice Navigator service combines GPS positioning with Telmap’s Polaris mapping and navigation technology. Subscribers will have access to maps and graphics, text and voice navigation instructions. Data is delivered via a wireless network. The service will be provided initially on the Motorola i860 phone and be extended to other models.
