VSAT technology developed by iDirect Technologies received product acceptance from the Rural Utilities Services (RUS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, iDirect announced July 11.

This acceptance means the technology can be purchased and installed using loans or grants under the RUS Telecommunications Program, which is intended to assist the private sector in developing, planning and financing the construction of telecommunications infrastructure in rural America.

“All of us at iDirect are excited for the opportunity to see our technology used in this market,” Bruce Bednarski, senior vice president of business development at iDirect, said in a statement. “It is very gratifying to know that our products will be widely available to help rural residents gain access to quality broadband telephone and Internet services.”
