Xantic B.V. transferred its media business, including contracts with commercial radio stations, in-store music providers and broadcast and Internet protocol services, to Castor Broadcasting B.V.

Under the terms of the agreement, Castor Broadcasting, based in Hilversum, the Netherlands, and founded by the former management team of Xantic’s Fixed Satellite Services business line, takes over all personnel and assets related to the business. This includes the Hilversum Teleport facilities. In addition to maintaining all existing services, Castor Broadcasting plans to expand its portfolio through in-house product development and external strategic partnerships.

The agreement maneuvers Castor Broadcasting into a more significant position in the Dutch broadcasting market and also will enable it to bring new service offerings to the industry through research and development. Expansion plans to other geographical markets are also planned, the company said.

The move will enable Xantic to focus on developing its primary business in mobile satellite communications.
