Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, an investment bank focused on growth sectors of the U.S. economy, and Near Earth LLC, an investment bank specializing in satellite- related industries, announced July 5 a new alliance. Near Earth will work with Thomas Weisel Partners to provide investment banking services, including private placement, public equity financing and mergers and acquisitions advisory to satellite-related corporations spanning the telecommunications, media, technology and aerospace and defense industries.

Financial terms of the alliance were not disclosed.
